On Thursday, June 4, 2015, Owner and Chief of Surgery Dr. Anke Langenbach was sworn in as President of the District of Columbia Academy of Veterinary Medicine.

Newly board-certified surgeon Dr. Andrew Levien is now seeing surgical consults on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm in our Vienna location at Hope Advanced Veterinary Center.

Despite many positive changes in the past year, it has become increasingly clear that the Winchester area presents a challenge for our rehabilitation services. With many clients willing to drive to our next closest clinic in Leesburg, VA, at The LifeCentre, we had to make a tough choice.

VSCR Practitioners Dr. Cameron Weber, DVM, CCRP, and Lynn Nalepa, LVT, CCRP, hosted an informative, one-hour clinic on how to exercise dogs safely to prevent common injuries, including strains, fractures, and more, on January 24, 2015, at Frolick Dogs in Alexandria, VA.

In October, the VSCR team hosted its first-ever Pet Halloween Costume Contest, open to any and all cats and dogs. We were so excited to receive nearly 20 entries, all of which were very, very good. From pop divas to insects to cowboys, we saw it all!

The Veterinary Forum, held this year at the Salamander Resort and Spa in Middleburg, Virginia, is the premier veterinary continuing education provider in Loudoun County, with specialists speaking on variety of topics during the two-day event.

On August 22, 2014, VSC completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, a sort-of dare to dump icy cold water on your self or make a donation to ALS to support its efforts to fight Lou Gerig’s disease.
