It is with great pleasure and pride we announce the newest addition to our surgical team, Dr. Andrew Levien, BVSc (hons), PgCertVS, MANZCVSc, has achieved Diplomate status as a board-certified small animal surgeon from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
In order to provide the highest level of quality care, VSC is committed to hiring board-certified surgeons who bring added experience and expertise to our practice.
A native of Australia, Dr. Andrew Levien earned his Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at the University of Sydney. He worked in a small animal practice in Australia while completing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Studies from Murdoch University. In 2009, he began a one-year rotating internship at the prestigious Royal Veterinary College, University of London, and, in 2010, accepted a position at Louisiana State University, where he completed a surgery internship. In 2011, he commenced a three-year surgical residency at the Animal Medical Center, New York. He became a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2013.
Dr. Levien’s clinical interests include complex orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. In particular, he is interested in the orthopedic disciplines of total joint replacement, fracture repair, and cruciate ligament disease.
